Tenting Guidelines
These guidelines help ensure the safe and efficient setup, use, and removal of tents for various events and applications. Please note that these guidelines are general recommendations, and local regulations and industry standards may vary, so it's essential to consult with local authorities and adhere to applicable codes and regulations. Here are some key best practices and procedures:
- Site Assessment:
- Conduct a thorough site assessment to evaluate the ground conditions, terrain, and any potential obstacles that may affect tent placement. Some of the information we will need from you includes;
- Physical Address
- Is the tent on Private or Public property? We will need to know the permit hours if on public.
- Is the area relatively flat with no obstructions?
- Are there any overhead electrical lines?
- Are there underground utilities? 811 LOCATE IS REQUIRED
- Can our truck pull up as close as 30-feet from the tent site? If not, how far?
- What terrain would the tent be installed on? Only in very rare conditions do we use water barrels to ballast a tent.
- If we agree to use water barrels, is there a water source? Commercial buildings typically need a spigot key.
- We ask that any sprinkler lines are flagged.
- Specific location and orientation.
- Client is to ensure that underground utilities (e.g., gas lines, electrical cables) are marked and avoided during setup. BY LAW, YOU MUST RECEIVE AN 811 LOCATE.
